Job Description:
The Hyperion Essbase Developer will be implementing Hyperion Essbase (version 7.x) with EIS (Essbase Integration Server). EIS is the piece of Hyperion that works with a relational database to provide the capability to drill down to details (in a financial area, it may be journal entries) drilling down from an Essbase cube into the relational database and drilling into Teradata. In addition, Hyperion Analyzer will be used as a reporting tool (ad hoc, dashboards, etc).

Responsibilities

Job Description:
A Candidate who uses Oracle and SQL Server database architecture knowledge to provide database expertise in the design, implementation and integrations of multi-tiered applications residing on relational database management systems (RDBMS). Responsible for application testing and support, version control, object management, code and design review,production staging and implementation planning, overseeing development efforts, support and training. Works with a team to develop strategies and select tools for data migration to support application
implementations and upgrades.

Major Responsibilities
Performs capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, backup/recovery techniques, and problem determination and resolution. Provides ongoing maintenance and support. Assists in the formulation of Corporate IT's overall plans and objectives by providing advice and counsel to management concerning the database technology and developments that affect those systemsbeing considered for the database environment. Adheres to the corporate data model and remains within the boundaries of portability to ensure the design of data structures incorporate referential integrity. Works with the data analyst to maintain dictionary system in support of the database management systems for all platforms.

Uses database utilities to ensure a cohesive database. Adheres to the methodology of the stablished relational data model, the normalization of data, and the design of database tables to optimize data access. Determines structural and storage requirements for the development of
databases. through systems analysis and design to ensure the most efficient customer database

Ensures database security by establishing data access and modification rights of all Corporate IT customers through the utilities provided within the database.Determines the standards and strategies for accessing the database via programs, on-line query languages, report generators, or other access technologies to ensure consistency and efficiency.

Other Functions:
Provides support to programmer analysts for database applications through problem determination and analysis to ensure proper use ofapplication technologies against the database.
Develops and maintains database programming standards and naming conventions to ensure consistency. Keeps abreast of new developments in computing equipment, systems analysis, database design and database programming techniques through the use of all available educational sources. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills:
Formal Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum five years' experience as a development and production Database Administrator with relational databases. Must have hands on experience with Oracle and SQL Servers, DTS (Data Transformation Services) and replication tools. Oracle 8i/9i certification required and Microsoft MCDBA desired.

Specialized Training or Knowledge:

Must understand logical/physical data modeling and must have experience in various Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) in order to effectively create the physical model and ultimately the physical database layout. Advanced script writing and PL/SQL skills. Through understanding of Lawson financials application. Oracle 8i, 9i, and 9iAS development/programming (i.e., stored procedures, triggers, Java, Report and Form generation/development). MS SQL Server, DBA, Data Modeling, and TransactSQL
Strong design and architecture skills.Programming background very helpful.

Working knowledge of relational theory.Through understanding of all database processes, utilities, and functions associated with the assigned RDBMS. Database-required skills include creating stored procedures, triggers, views and tables.
