As our our Hardware Performance Test Engineer in Austin, TX you will be responsible for engineering validation of new networking driver features for Windows server operating systems. You will work directly with our developers to implement new features. Your expertise in the setup and configuration of Windows servers, network adapters, switches, and test application software will be paramount towards your success. Your testing responsibilities will include performance benchmarks, server stress tests, and higher level server applications, such as, web, ftp and mail servers. Independent testing and understanding of the correct network device operation is required for identifying product defects or improvements.

Skills you bring to Emulex:

Scripting expertise using PowerShell, Perl or other batch scripting languages
Expert user level experience with TCP/IP Networking Protocols
Experience installing Windows operating systems, hardware devices, drivers, and server programs
The ability to run systematic testing, identify bugs and suggest improvements in a hardware product
An understanding of basic networking topics such as device installation, IP configuration, networking protocols, and network troubleshooting
The ability to clearly communicate issues discovered in testing

Highly proficient software development experience mostly in C and C++

As our Firmware Architect and a member of the System Architecture team in San Jose CA, your mission is to develop new feature/product concepts into concrete firmware-based solutions for Emulex's line of I/O controllers. As the "glue" that holds together our product and Firmware plan, you will communicate behaviors of the individual components of these solutions to the respective development teams. You will collaborate with and lead the Engineering teams to appropriately scope, implement and test the resulting product.

Key skills you offer:

Architecture, design and development of embedded firmware
Thorough understanding of networking protocols like Converged Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, etc.
Thorough understanding of network storage protocols such as Fibre channel/FCoE, iSCSI, and/or RoCE.
Project management, leadership and customer facing experience
Development experience in large scale firmware programs
Working knowledge of PCIe, I/O Virtualization, x86 and ARM architectures

Other tools and skills helpful to your mission:

Understand Server Architectures including the Operating Systems commonly used in the Data center
