Assesses market penetration, and product positioning to drive competitive advantage, revenue and market share. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Assists in developing marketing tools for successful product introductions. Communicates sales and customer feedback to engineering, manufacturing and sales to enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). Establishes company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s).
Primary Duties / Responsibilities

Position Summary:
  • Responsible for increasing the revenues and market share of Citrix products and solutions.
  • Focus on the demand generation, or key play, function within the Desktops and Apps product team. This person will lead a small team that will define the go to market direction, programs and manage the budget for demand generation across the XenDesktop, XenApp, VDI-in-a-Box and AppDNA products.
  • Create and document the demand generation marketing plan working across groups including, but not limited to Integrated Demand Marketing, Product Marketing, Product Management and Field Marketing.
  • Primary interface and liaison for working with the Citrix GEO Marketing teams to ensure that demand generation and GEO marketing plans are in sync and complementary to one another to achieve our revenue goals.
  • Interface with Citrix Product Management and Engineering groups to ensure timely development, partner with other departments and channels to ensure availability of all necessary sales and marketing materials, product positioning, analyst and press briefings, training and ongoing sales support.
  • Define product portfolio strategy based on technology trends, market opportunity, customer needs and competitive analysis.
  • Direct product and market requirement definition, building product strategy, vision and roadmaps, business planning, customer and market research, financial ROI analysis and forecasting, product feature set priorities and trade-offs.
  • Direct and define vision, positioning, packaging, pricing and go-to-market strategy for all product lines.
  • Provide the focal point for managing Citrix relationship with relevant technology partners, contribute to the strategic direction of the company, participate in the development of sales tools, training, demonstration programs and sales literature, deliver customer presentations and demonstrations both on-site or at Executive Briefing Center.
  • Strong cross-functional understanding of building new products and revenue streams is critical.
  • Can define a strategy, a strategic plan, get executive approvals, handle budgets, groom managers to be leaders, have industry knowledge, can do strategic recruitment, etc.
  • Monitor competitive intelligence and equipping the field to sell effectively against the competition. This will include working with Technical Marketing Engineers on in-house technical evaluations, market intelligence gathering, creation of competitive sales tools, sales response guidelines, etc.
  • Drive press strategy, in conjunction with the PR team. Responsible for content, and serving as spokesperson on announcements and launches, etc.

Internal Promotion:
The Citrix Technology Architect will be responsible for driving developer participation of the open source Apache CloudStack project, currently being incubated in the Apache Software Foundation. The Technology Architect will report to the CTO organization and will work closely with open source engineering and marketing organizations at Citrix. The primary responsibility will be to increase developer community participation and contribution of the Apache CloudStack project.

The Technology Architect will create strategies to reach developers, identify partners likely to contribute resources to the project, and pitch the merit of contributing to the project. The success measure is the number of developers and organizations making active contributions to the project. On an on-going basis, the Technology Evangelist will serve as an advocate for Apache CloudStack developer community. The candidate will help enforce the openness and transparently of the project and ensure that all Apache Software Foundation rules are faithfully followed.

Position Summary:
The Technology Architect will provide education and support to developers. The candidate will conduct, for example, developer boot camps, development environment demonstrations, and other forms of assistance to Apache CloudStack developers. The Architect must be able to individually solve problems proactively and seek help from more experienced team members or other available sources (i.e. knowledge base, manuals, etc.) when necessary. The position requires a team player with a high level of accountability that seeks to supplement their skills through the use of project experience, self-study manuals, and point of need training.

The candidate must also understand that Apache developer communities are meritocracies where influence is often measured by their ability to participate in venues most frequented by open source developers and interact with the appropriate social norms for these groups. The Technology Architect will strive to demonstrate their abilities to be a leader in these communities and act as an individual who represents the best interests of the developer community.

The Technology Architect must be able to make frequent domestic and international trips to meet with partners and present in conferences and meet-ups.
